NICE Obesity guidelines to be updated

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is going to update the Obesity CG43 guidelines. NICE are starting the rigorous process of updating their Obesity Guidelines CG43. As a stakeholder in the process the YDEF have been invited to comment on the draft scope.

This is your chance to be involved in shaping National Clinical Guidelines. Milan Piya will be collating your thoughts and views and replying on behalf of the YDEF membership. Please email him here. Your views need to be to him by Monday 9th December.

FDA requires removal of certain restrictions on Rosiglitazone

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today announced it is requiring the removal of certain restrictions on prescribing and use of the diabetes drug Avandia (rosiglitazone) to reflect new information regarding the cardiovascular risk of the medicine.

ADA/EASD/IDF joint recommendations on incretin therapies

The American Diabetes Association (ADA), the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) and the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) have produced joint recommendations regarding incretin therapies, pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer.
