Bournemouth Pump Course

Bournemouth have been involved with many successful pump training courses and the next one has been arranged for Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd July 2015. The cost for 2 day course is £350 plus VAT per person which includes one nights’ accommodation at the Village Hotel and evening meal on 2nd July plus all daytime refreshments.  The cost of an extra night accommodation and dinner is £105. The cost of course without accommodation and evening meal will be £275 plus VAT

Aims:    To develop and enhance skills and knowledge of insulin pump therapy. This includes technical, clinical and educational aspects

9.00           Coffee and registration
9.30           Introduction and personal aims
10.0           Introduction to insulin pump therapy 

11.00          Practical Introduction to pump therapy – small group work
During this session you will learn the manual handling of the pump and attach yourself
                  The session will cover:
                      Basal and bolus screens
                      Infusion sets
                      Setting temporary basal rates
                      Setting and using bolus advisor/wizard

12.30        Some Calculations       
                      How to calculate basal rates           
                      Adjusting basal rates
                      Calculating insulin sensitivity

13.00            Lunch (practical carbohydrate counting)
