Live Symposium of EASD 2016

PCM Scientific in association with Novartis are organising a live symposium on the first day of the EASD Annual Meeting in Munich (European Association for the Study of Diabetes; 12-16 September 2016. The aim of the symposium is to help healthcare professionals with an interest in diabetes to improve their clinical practice.

The symposium will be followed by a number of online ‘case study clinics’ (expert-led webinars where complex cases can be submitted for discussion).

Both the symposium and the case study clinics will be hosted by world-renowned experts in diabetes, and attendees will receive CME credits.

CME-accredited EASD Symposium:

Your are invited to join world-renowned experts Professor Silvio Inzucchi and Professor David Matthews as they chair a CME-accredited symposium at the 52nd EASD Annual Meeting on 12 September 2016 in Munich, Germany. This live, interactive symposium is designed for healthcare professionals with an interest or role in diabetes patient management and is entitled ‘Transcending the template: strategies for optimising complex patient management’.

 

The symposium programme will focus on:

• Assessing the latest diabetes guidelines targets; and individualising and optimising treatment targets to fit the patient from the start

• Appropriate pharmacologic strategies for patients with diabetes and a rationale for selection of specific therapeutic classes and drug combinations per patient profile

• The management of difficult patient profiles with complex comorbidities and other conditions that fall outside of standard practice guidelines

• Current recommendations for escalation of diabetes therapies in cases of disease worsening or treatment failure, including choice and timing of combination therapies

• Practical ways to address issues such as low patient motivation and adherence
