The YDEF's ever popular Insulin Pump Course is set to run again in 2017 with fantastic content delivered by internationally recognised speakers.                                          

Learn all you need to be confident and knowledgeable about selecting patients, setting up and using pumps, as well as the principles relating to their ongoing management such as carbohydrate counting.

•  CHO counting.
•  Getting to know your pumps – group work.
•  The Basics of Basals (sets, infusion devices and basals)         
•  The Basics of Bolusing (ISF, I:C, types of boluses) 
•  How to manage sickness, DKA and hypos.
•  Advanced pumping with case studies.
•  CHO counting.
•  Setting up a pump service, organisational and financial considerations.
•  Psychological care of the pump patient.
•  Where does CGM fit in?
•  Case studies – complex cases.
•  Feedback on wearing pumps.
•  Using downloads, Pumps and pregnancy, Pumps and exercise.
•  Islet cell transplantation.
•  Closed loop systems.
•  Question Time  - open meeting with speakers.

**PLEASE NOTE THE COURSE IS PRIMARILY FOR D&E SPRs** Trainees closer to CCT who have not attended this course will be given priority.
