ABCD meeting for registrars

ABCD is pleased to announce their 13th dedicated meeting for Specialist Registrars.

This will again consist of "Meet the Expert" sessions where topical areas in diabetes and endocrinology can be discussed in a small group format. In addition research and case presentations are invited and the best four will be selected for presentation. The ABCD SpR Training Award will be given to the best of these presentations. This award of £1000 will go towards attendance at an international meeting.

When: 6th and 7th November 2015

ABCD Autumn meeting 2017

The ABCD Autumn Meeting is to be held at BMA House in London on 9th & 10th November 2017.

The Association dinner on 9th Nov followed by a full day of lectures and interactive sessions, including our International Guest Speaker Prof. Per-Henrik Groop from Helsinki  and the 5th Niru Goenka Lecture, delivered this year by Dr Emma Wilmot from Derby.

RCP Endocrinology Update - 2nd July

Designed to bring busy clinicians up-to-date in endocrinology in just one day, this conference on the 2nd July at the RCP London, will update delegates on common endocrine conditions encountered in general clinical practice, in which there have been significant advances in the past few years. Hypo awareness week 2014

The aim of Hypo Awareness Week is to raise awareness of hypoglycaemia in the inpatient setting to help hospital staff recognise and treat symptoms and refer patients to appropriate care teams. Over 150 organisations have already signed up to take part. Each trust is encouraged to us this as an opportunity to educate other HCP, particularly those involved in inpatient care. There will be a webinar which all are invited to join as well as a simulation of good and bad management of hypoglycaemia.

Delivering better outcomes for diabetes in pregnancy

This is a Royal Society of Medicine meeting open to all members of the team involved in the care of diabetes during pregnancy. The main aims include presenting latest information in order to achieve better outcomes in pregnant patients with diabetes and discussing the diabetes in pregnancy audit.
