How will CCGs be funded?

Written by Jyothis George on Sunday, 30 September 2012 21:37.

The NHS Commissioning Board (NHSCB) has announced that it is working on a new formula for allocating Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) budgets. The ‘Fair Shares’ formula is designed to take into account information on each CCG’s population, down to the individual patient level, when assessing the overall needs of each CCG area. The NHSCB will make a decision on whether to use the formula to inform CCG budgets for 2013/14 in October and the final budget allocation for CCGs will be revealed in December.

www.t1resources.uk - A resource for patients with Type 1 diabetes!

Written by Amar Puttanna on Thursday, 22 September 2016 20:00.

A new website launched last week providing resources for people affected by type 1 diabetes. The website, www.t1resources.uk, has been set up by a YDEF's own Sophie Harris, who is currently doing a PhD investigating barriers to uptake of structured education. The website is based on findings that people find it hard to know what to trust online and less than 10% of people have a peer that they can ask for advice.

The website brings many resources under one roof, where they are reviewed and rated to ensure they are safe and useful. With over 80 resources, and more added daily, it is a great place to sign-post your patients to to learn more about social media and the online support available.

Access the website now and let your patients know!

Junior Doctor Contract: Industrial action Feb 10th

Written by Amar Puttanna on Thursday, 04 February 2016 21:45.

Industrial action planned for 10th February 2016.

As talks between NHS England, DoH and BMA via ACAS failed to progress, planned industrial action is to take place.

However, instead of full walkout, the strike will be for 24hrs (8am Wednesday 10th Feb to 8am Thursday 11th) and be for non-emergency care only.
